The GQ Men’s Runway show at VAMFF 2017
Last night it was all about the men at this year’s Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival. VAMFF 2017 has been another successful year with huge crowds turning out in some perfect Melbourne autumn weather.
The Royal Exhibition Building is a stunning backdrop to the festival with a number of large sponsors such as Virgin, Lavazza, Mercedes-Benz, Asahi, David Jones and Priceline all providing their support with entertainment on site.
After being held in the Melbourne Museum last year, the men’s runway was moved to the 100m+ long runway inside the Exhibition building, blanketed by tiered seating full of fashion enthusiasts and the like.
The menswear this year saw a range of autumn colours with shades of green being the standout in both the suiting and more casual street wear. Bold patterned pants were in as were checkered and plaid jackets for suit style, while there were some elements of camouflage in the casual wear. We even saw some structured but loose velvet-like pants that had a military tone to them.
On the night I wore Calibre Australia, with their Neutral Polo Blazer standing out complimented with a beautiful contrasting pocket square and navy blue shirt. The Plaid Dress Pant was not only bold looking but super comfortable and well fitting and looked great with the Gavrel Double Monk Shoe.
A big thanks to AMPR and Asahi Australia for the invite and to Calibre for the outfit with more of my look below. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event!
